South Carolina commit. 6-foot-2, 195-pound left-handed hitting infielder and catcher, durable, athletic build, strength through frame with much more to come, one of the top bats at the PBR Cup. Showed an incredible amount of bat speed at the plate with quick, loose hands, could hear the draft of the bat as it whipped through the zone. Keeps it simple with a short hand load and stride. Explosive through the point of contact, really lets it fly. Barrel works uphill through the zone as he attempts to do damage with each and every swing. Put it all together Saturday as he smashed a home run 373 feet, 96 mph off the bat.

6/12/18 - Home-1st: 4.59, Position Velocity:  IF-83, C-70, Exit Velocity: 88
6-foot-1, 180-pound, LHH shows some serious bat speed, even more than his already high exit velocity for the class indicates.  Medium, athletic profile w/ well-proportioned lean strength, super projectable.  Has just scratched the surface of his frame potential.  Offensively, hits w/ a slightly open, slightly crouched stance w/ short hand rhythm into shift of weight, leg kick (occasional toe tap) and proper load.  Generates premium bat speed through the zone, projects for elite level bat speed as his frame matures.  Lives by the motto, swing hard in case you hit it.  Does not get cheated.  Shows ability to stay on balance, hit w/ still head.  Projects to hit for average w/ ability to use all fields.  Easy swings in BP w/ ball jumping off the barrel.  Projectable average runner.  Defensively, worked out at 3B and also caught in game.  On the dirt, shows solid hands w/ projectable above average arm strength.  As a catcher, receives on one knee w/ target slightly above the knees.  Takes short glove rest at times.  With some stance work, appears uncomfortable when he gets into a crouch right now, has a chance to receive.  Strong hands, handled velocity well w/ ability to stick the baseball.  As a thrower, learning how to use his lower half in his throws, all arm behind the plate right now.  Projects as slightly above average thrower with reps as he learns to translate his IF arm strength to behind the plate.  Profiles best on the dirt, but level of catching acumen shown is very intriguing.
