5'10, 170-pound, RHH hits from a balanced and slightly open stance with his hands positioned relatively low with a little bit of forward tilt in his initial setup, uses a rhythmic stride and raises his hands backwards to get loaded.  Lower half gets through but is a little late at times, causing him to drag the bat into and through the zone, line drive approach and swing resulted in some hard hit ground balls and low line drives in his round of BP to all fields, strong kid can get a little muscly at times.  Defensively, showed good hands and footwork, received well in game play and stayed very connected throughout his exchange and quick release, delivered strong throws with very good accuracy to second base, sat pretty high and came up quickly when recording pop times.

8/16/15 - The 5 foot 9, 167- pound prospect posted a 7.87 60 time and had a 71 mph position velocity from behind the plate . Defensively, Maxwell had 2.02-2.18 pop times and showed average arm strength. Maxwell showed fluid footwork that stays online, quick transfer and release, and made consistently accurate throws to the bag. Offensively, Maxwell has average bat speed from the right side and had a 75 mph exit velocity off the tee.  Maxwell hits from a balanced setup, short stride, uses some of his lower half, line drive type hitter. Maxwell went 0-for-4 during game play but put the ball in play in each trip to the plate.
