Cape Cod: A two-year stalwart out of the Lipscomb bullpen (where he posted a 2.40 ERA and a sparkling 47-12 K-BB mark in 41.1 IP this spring), Frank was superb for Hyannis as both a starter (six appearances) and reliever (four), posting a 2.67 ERA with a 25-7 K-BB mark in 30.1 IP during the regular season. The 6-foot-6, 215-pound southpaw works downhill from a high slot and features some front-side funk that adds a little deception. He worked at 88-91 and bumped 93 with his heavy low-spin fastball, and at his best (when we saw him), his 82-84 split-change is a true swing-and-miss weapon with late tumble, though it still needs to become a more consistent offering. He also shows the ability to land a quality 75-77 mph curveball for a strike, and he can mix in a useful low-80s slider as well. There is projection remaining in Frank’s tall frame, and if his fastball ticks up another notch or two, it’s easy to envision him thriving as a starter for Lipscomb and pushing for the top five rounds next summer.

6-foot-3, 170-pound, LHP showed projectable size, arm-speed.  Tall, athletic frame w/ well-proportioned present strength, super projectable.  Has just scratched the surface of his frame potential.  Pitches from a full wind-up into ¾ release from the third base side of the rubber.  Repeats his delivery, controls his frame well for a pitcher his age.  Downhill w/ some angle.  Straight FB shows occasional short arm-side run.  CB shows tight, short downer action.  Slurve-like at times when gets around it.  CH w/ arm-speed, fade and sink.  Sprayed the zone on this day, projects to command w/ repeatable delivery.  Generated 4 swing and misses on 13 swings.

6-foot-3, 170-pound, RHH showed a solid approach.  Tall, athletic frame w/ well-proportioned present strength, super projectable.  Has just scratched the surface of his frame potential.  Offensively, hits w/ a straight on, very slightly crouched stance w/ short hand rhythm into a short crouch, leg kick and very short hand load.  Some stiffness through the zone.  Gap to gap offensive approach.  Projectable pull power.  Defensively, shows projectable arm strength while profiling best in a corner.

1/27/18 - Max FB: 75, FB: 74-75, CB: 62-66, CH: 65-67
6-foot-1, 155-pound, LHP shows projectable frame/arm speed.  Medium, athletic frame w/ long limbs, high waisted.  Very projectable, just scratching the surface of his physical potential.  Pitches from the stretch only on the third base side of the rubber.  Starts w/ weight on backside into hip high leg kick, leg drive and H ¾ release.  Front leg driven vs. back leg.  Good arm speed w/ loose arm swing.  Repeats delivery w/ low effort throw.  FB shows short arm side run.  Medium downer CB flashes tightness.  CH w/ arm-speed, fade and sink.  Around the zone w/ the FB, developing consistency in the off-speed pitches.  Projects to pound the zone.  Intriguing young lefty.
