6-foot-3, 200-pound, Brian McCann like build. Still has frame potential to put on quality muscle. Offensively showed a balanced setup with a neutral handset. Negatively moves with a leg kick before moving to the ball while hands work back. Showed a high exit velo of 89 mph with some bat speed out front. Good direction in his swing as he is able to handle the outside pitch to the RC gap. Has a tendency to sway weight back taking him off balance and off plane. Offensively projects to be an above average hitter at the next level. Defensively, provides a big frame for pitchers to throw to. Showed ability to frame. Very consistent throwing mechanics down to 2nd with a quality pop time.

6-3, 200-pound catcher continues to improve offensively, improving his exit velocity by 3 ticks since last summer. Tall, athletic frame w/ well-proportioned present strength, super projectable, chance to be a monster physically. Offensively, hits w/ a straight on, slightly crouched stance w/ short hand rhythm into knee to knee leg kick and short hand load. Generates bat speed through the zone, understands how to use his lower half. Feel for the barrel when on-time. Just keeps improving with his swing every time we see him. Gap power type w/ projectable pull power. As a receiver, presents a solid target w/ intermittent glove rests. Sets it up a bit too high, creating some difficulty getting underneath the low pitch. Has an idea of how to receive, stick the baseball, learning how to beat the ball to the spot consistently. As a thrower, shows solid footwork and release w/ carry to target arm strength.
8/11/18 - 60 Time: 7.78, Pop Time: 2.03-2.12, Position Velocity: C-72, Exit Velocity: 80 6-foot-3, 200-pound, RHH showed his power potential in BP. Tall, athletic frame w/ well-proportioned lean strength, super projectable, has just scratched the surface of his frame potential. Offensively, hits w/ a straight on, slightly crouched stance w/ short hand rhythm into short knee to knee leg kick and short hand load. Whippy, shows ability to generate bat speed with his upper and lower half in sync. As the frame continues to get stronger, shows offensive potential. Occasional bat wrap. Pull oriented approach w/ chance for all fields power as frame matures. As a thrower, shows solid footwork and arm strength w/ carry to target.
6/27/18 - 60 Time: 7.84, Pop Time: 2.00-2.07, Position Velocity: C-74, Exit Velocity: 83 6-foot-2, 185-pound, RHH has improved all of his metrics since last summer. Tall, athletic frame w/ well-proportioned present strength, some physical projection. Offensively, hits w/ a straight on, slightly crouched stance w/ short hand rhythm into leg kick and short hand load. Generates above average bat speed through the zone, more than exit velocity suggests. Extension through the baseball allows it to jump off his barrel. Understands how to use his body to generate bat speed. Quiet head w/ some barrel feel. Projectable power to all fields as he learns to stay on balance and not get out on his front side. As a receiver, presents a solid target w/ intermittent glove rests, can set a lower target, just under the knees of hitter’s knees. Moves well behind the plate w/ ability to box the baseball w/ good form, keeping chest above the ball. As a thrower, shows good footwork w/ carry to target arm strength. Accurate thrower tends to put the ball on the bag.
7/5/17 - 60 Time: 8.19, Pop Time: 2.06-2.14, Position Velocity: C-68, Exit Velocity: 79 6-0, 160-pound, RHH hits from a wide and even stance with some higher hand positioning to start, uses a short double stride without much hand movement to get loaded, lower half drives through as a solid base, swing plane is flat to slightly up and can get through the baseball, mid to low line drives from gap to gap. Defensively, showed above average hands and footwork behind the plate, exchange could be quicker, shorter arm action through a high 3/4 slot, some added arm strength will come with more lower half utilization.
