8/11/18 - 60 Time: 7.62, Pop Time: 1.94-2.09, Position Velocity: C-78, Exit Velocity: 76
5-foot-10, 180-pound, LHH continues to show an intriguing all-around skillset. Medium, athletic frame w/ well-proportioned lean strength, projectable. Just scratching the surface of his frame potential. Offensively, hits w/ a slightly open, upright stance w/ short hand rhythm into stride to square and proper load. Simple, repeatable swing w/ lot of line drives. Will always be a better in game hitter than BP hitter, all fields approach w/ lot of line drives. Offensive strength comes from his ability to work quality in game at bats and barrel feel. Gap power type. As a thrower, shows good footwork w/ carry to target arm strength.
6/12/18 - Home-1st: 4.54, Pop Time: 2.00-2.13, Position Velocity: C-74, Exit Velocity: 84
5-foot-9, 165-pound, LHH shows advanced in game offensive approach, collecting a couple hits during the game. Short, athletic frame w/ some present lower half strength, projectable. Offensively, hits from an open, slightly crouched stance w/ hand rhythm into toe tap to square and proper load. Generates bat speed through the zone. All fields approach w/ gap to gap approach. Lot of line drives when right. Tough out, quiet, repeatable swing w/ quiet head. Flashes pull power at times. Projectable average runner. Defensively, presents a big target. Lot of movement, pre-pitch. Takes a big glove rest w/ jumping around while ball is coming in the air. Tools to receive w/ strong hands, has an idea of how to stick the baseball. As a thrower, shows solid feet w/ proper release, carry to target arm strength. Got moving a bit too quickly early on in catching testing and then settled in to let his tools play on his last 2 throws. Intriguing combination of consistent quality at bats from the left side and receiving tools.
11/18/17 - 30 Time: 4.22, Pop Time: 1.84-1.91, Position Velocity: IF: 78, C: 73, Exit Velocity: 94
5-foot-8, 150-pound, LHH w/ projectable offense, ability to stay at catcher. Short, athletic frame w/ lean strength, physical projection. Offensively, hits w/ a straight on, slightly crouched stance w/ bat resting on back shoulder. Short shift of weight, stride and short low hand load. Repeats w/ some barrel feel. Lot of line drives. Can use lower half more to generate more power. Projects to hit for average w/ gap power. Defensively, shows good hands behind the plate w/ carry to target arm strength. On the IF, shows soft hands w/ good feet. Projects to stay behind the plate.
6/13/17 - Home-1st: 4.43, Pop Time: 2.07-2.21, Position Velocity: C-72, Exit Velocity: 71
5-foot-9, 155-pound, LHH showed the balance and consistency at the plate that many coaches look for, uses a simple line drive approach with a slight uphill bat path through contact, peppers the ball from gap to gap. Defensively, works though the ball aggressively, shows solid hands and confidence, exchange and release could get quicker to cut pop time.
12/10/16 - 60 Time: 7.52, Pop Time: 2.03-2.20, Position Velocity: C-71, IF-77, Exit Velocity: 74
5-foot-9, 155-pound, LHH hits from the same wide and even stance we saw from him at the Underclass Games, stride is longer than in the past but remains short, hands go back in a smooth manner to get loaded, lower half stays pretty balanced, swing plane is general flat through the zone but can be a little steep on occasion, line drive hitter can spray the ball around. Defensively, showed good hands and pretty good footwork behind the plate with a high exchange and a short arm action through a high ¾ slot, athletic enough to play anywhere on the field.
7/26/16 - Home-1st: 4.59, Pop Time: 2.19-2.34, Position Velocity: 66, Exit Velocity: 73
5-foot-8, 155-pound, LHH hits from a wide and even stance with very little movement in his set up, uses a heel lift and plant as a stride and slightly lowers his hands to get himself loaded, lower half does provide a strong base but could definitely be used to create a little more pop, swing is a little handsy and can be steep on balls low in the zone, doesn’t get much extension through the ball, hit some simple ground balls and low line drives up the middle in BP. Defensively, showed good hands and average footwork behind the plate, fell off a little toward the third base side after throws, clean and high exchange with a short arm action over-the-top delivered his throws to second base with average arm strength.
