Potentially the fastest player in the Tennessee class, showcased at Top Prospect Games with a 6.41 60 Time. Showed good arm from OF (84 OF Velo) and developing offensive game (88 Exit Velo). The CF prospect busted into the Top 100, rising from 105 to the 55thspot (+50). Committed to MTSU in early July.

60: 6.41 OF Velo: 84 Exit Velo: 88
The 6’1 165-pound outfielder flashed multiple tools and instincts throughout the day. Johnson impressed in the morning recording the fastest 60 of the event with a 6.41 time, then followed with the top outfield velo of the event (84 mph) during the evaluation segment. Offensively, Johnson has a balance stance with good bat speed and rhythm. In the live game action, Johnson doubled and walked while also stealing two bases.
6-foot-0, 160-pound, RHH showed off his plus running speed and intriguing bat speed. Medium, athletic frame w/ lean strength, super projectable. Has barely scratched the surface of his frame potential. Offensively, hits w/ a straight on, slightly crouched stance w/ hand rhythm into leg kick and load. Circular load can be varying lengths, affecting timing through the hitting zone. Generates bat speed through the zone. Learning to repeat the same swing, engage lower half. As he learns to sync his upper and lower half, projects to make a jump. Barrel feel w/ lot of line drives in pull-oriented approach. Has gotten better and better every time we’ve seen him offensively. Projectable pull power, ball jumps off his barrel at times. Defensively, shows tools to stay in CF w/ plus run speed and projectable arm strength.
