6-1, 190-pound righty showed a big velo jump from last summer, seeing a 6-tick jump while pitching primarily 84 in his pen. Medium, athletic frame w/ some present lower half strength, some upper half projection. Pitches from a full wind-up into ¾ to H ¾ release from the first base side of the rubber. Quiet, repeatable delivery w/ quick arm, arm works. Just scratching the surface of his velocity potential. Straight FB w/ occasional short cut. Showed two true breaking balls, mixing in a tight medium downer CB w/ occasional late bite and a ¾ tilt SL that flashed depth. Rare to see a prospect with 2 distinct breaking balls. CH w/ fade and sink. Around the zone w/ his 4-pitch mix, intriguing arm to see this spring thanks to the velocity jump.
