10/21/17 - Home-1st: 4.81, Position Velocity:  IF-88, Exit Velocity: 91
5-foot-11, 175-pound, RHH continues to just hit while proving he is a true SS, as he went 2-5 at the plate with a walk and no swing and miss on 5 swings.  Medium, athletic frame w/ present strength, some projection.  Offensively, hits from a straight on, crouched stance w/ back ear hand location.  Short bat waggle.  Shift of weight, leg kick and proper load.  Still head w/ balance allows him high contact ability.  Strong forearms w/ back-spin projects to hit for pull HR power.  All fields approach w/ ability to drive the ball where it is pitched.  Recognizes spin w/ idea of his strike zone.  Average runner underway.  Defensively, tested better in arm strength then last month’s previous look while making all the plays in game.  Soft hands w/ good feet.  High upside middle infield prospect w/ above average bat for position.
9/24/17 - Home-1st: 4.69, Position Velocity:  82, Exit Velocity: 87
5-foot-11, 175-pound, RHH impressed w/ his game playing ability, going 2-4 at the plate with no swing and miss and making a couple nice plays at SS.  Medium, athletic frame w/ present strength.  Straight on, slightly crouched stance w/ high back ear hand location.  Bat waggle.  Shift of weight, leg kick and proper load.  Balanced w/ above average bat speed.  All fields approach w/ projectable power coming.  Barrel feel.  Can recognize and adjust to off-speed pitches.  Average runner who knows how to play the game and run the bases, stealing a base in game.  Reliable defensive middle infielder that makes the routine play and has tools to make the difficult play.  Intriguing combination of 2019 tools in a high upside prospect.

9/10/17 - 5-11, 175-pound middle infielder.  Righty hits from a straight on, slightly crouched stance w/ back ear hand location.  Knee to knee type stride w/ hands going into proper load position.  Above avg bat speed.  Got a little off balance at times with the lower half.  Gap to gap approach.  DNS enough defensively for an eval.  Intriguing 2019 prospect.

7/5/17 - 60 Time: 7.27, Position Velocity:  IF-83, Exit Velocity: 84
5-11, 170-pound, RHH hits from an athletic stance with loose hands and some rhythm, uses an abbreviated leg kick and stride with a movement back of his hands to get loaded, lower half fires but can pull him forward at times, hands are whippy through contact, swing plane is flat to slightly up through contact, gap pop with a middle-pull approach.  Defensively, showed soft hands and fluid footwork, plays through the ball with confidence, arm action is loose through a high 3/4 slot, firm and accurate throws.  Earned a spot on the Future Games roster.
1/29/17 - Home-1st: 4.77, Position Velocity:  IF-82, Exit Velocity: 88
5-foot-10, 180-pound, RHH hit from a slightly wider stance than we saw from him at the Underclass Games last July, slightly open stance and loose hands remain the same, uses a short but smooth stride with a subtle movement back with his hands to get loaded, lower half fires through with some aggressiveness, bat path is flat to slightly up through contact and provides him some pop to his pull side, likes to turn on the ball but can hit it everywhere.  Defensively, has some of the best hands in his class along with fluid and confident footwork, plays through the ball with momentum, exchange leads to a loose arm action through a high ¾ slot, throws are very firm and accurate. Continues to impress.

7/27/16 - Home-1st: 4.71, Position Velocity:  83, Exit Velocity: 84
5-foot-10, 175-pound, RHH hits from a tall and athletic stance that holds his front foot very slightly open, uses a longer but early stride along with a push back of the hands and a leaning of the barrel to get loaded, lower half gets through but pulls him to his front side a little bit and causes him to drift, swing plane is flat through the zone with some lift at the end that helps him to drive balls through the gaps, showed gap-to-gap potential in BP and recorded two 1B’s in game play.  Defensively, showed soft hands an great footwork as he played through the ball smoothly and efficiently, has the ability to make tough plays look easy, will add some quickness with maturity, smooth arm action with the ability to throw from multiple slots produced accurate throws across the infield with good carry. Gent is a highly regarded SS in the 2019 class.
