9.17.17 - Verbally committed to Tennessee out of San Jac CC.
2020 DRAFT: He arrived in Knoxville as a talented and rather raw prospect, but made an immediate statement last season as a sophomore with a .357 average, 13 doubles, 11 home runs and 46 RBIs on the way to an All-American campaign. However, this spring Soularie got off to a slow start before turning things around and getting into a groove. He finished the season with five HR, 17 RBI and a .267/.392/.533 slash line. Soularie is an athletic 6-foot, 175-pounder, who has above average defensive skills in the outfield. He takes good routes and can track down balls, and also has the ability to play the infield. Physically, Soularie has progressed in the weight room, gaining 20 pounds of muscle throughout last season. That led to much improved power production despite his wiry frame. He's also an average runner. As one of the top bats in the 2020 draft, expect Soularie to come off the board within the top three rounds. He could be a potential LA Dodger target with his strong Plate Discipline and Hit Ability scores.
4/20/19: Sophomore transfer from San Jacinto JC (Tex.) and another top 2020 prospect for Tennessee. He possesses some of the best current hitting analytics among 2020/21 draft eligibles and leads the Vols in nearly every offensive category, slashing .378/.493/.697. He has an innate feel to hit, is long through the zone and consistently finds the barrel. With a toe tap stride, he eases into a controlled glide, producing above average raw power to his pull side. He has excellent pitch recognition and hand/eye with good bat control. Also showed an advanced two-strike approach where he spreads out, removes his toe tap and limits his hand load. Having already gained around 20 pounds since his arrival to Knoxville nine months ago, he has the frame to gain additional weight/strength and his power numbers should continue to grow. He's also an athletic outfielder with very good reactions, strong routes and above average range. Overall, he's an above average defender in left field with a below average arm and the versatility to possibly play second base. He's also a near average runner down the line at 4.33 and has stole four bases in five attempts so far this spring. (Seifert)
