There is no shortage of catching talent at Guyer, with 3 very capable backstops.  On Friday night, Carver got a chance to show off his catch and throw skills and gunned down 2 Marcus baserunners.  He has quick feet back there and more than enough arm strength to shut down the running game.  At the plate, he flashes some power and just missed hitting one out on Friday.  It is tough to find good catching, and Guyer has 3 guys that they could feel confident starting this year. 

Positional Profile: C

Body: 5-foot-10, 175 pounds. 

Hit: RHH. Balanced stance, foot lift load trigger, hands go down and then back to trigger swing, uphill swing plane hitting line drives and fly balls up the middle and to the pull-side. 

Power: 96.9 mph max exit velocity in BP, 78.7 mph average exit velocity, 355 feet max distance, 30% of batted balls over 90 mph exit velocity.

Arm: RH. C - 80 mph. Short arm action, good carry to the bag with accurate throws.  

Defense: 1.97 pop time. Good footwork getting in line with 2B, clean funnel to release with a good transfer

Run: 7.27 runner in the 60.

Body: 5-foot-11, 185 pounds. 

Hit: RHH. Balanced stance, leg lift load trigger, takes hands back slightly with barrel tilt to trigger swing, slight uphill swing plane hitting line drives and fly balls to the pull-side gap. 

Power: 92.30 mph max exit velocity in BP, 86.5 mph average exit velocity, 349 feet max distance, 57% of batted balls over 90 mph exit velocity.

Arm: RH. C - 83 mph. Short arm action, good carry to the bag at times with accurate throws. 

Defense: 2.13 pop time. Good footwork getting in line to 2nd base consistently, clean funnel to release with good hands, flashes ability to stick the low pitch. 

Run: 7.20 runner in the 60.
