He works from a ¾ slot with a long, quick arm stroke from back to front, lands closed with a slight, cross body delivery with some effort and an athletic lower half. The arm works efficiently and it is not too hard to dream that combined with his frame and athleticism, there is more velocity coming in the future. Fastball has late arm side action at 78-81 mph, topping out at 82. His curveball lacks consistency right now, but shows shows signs of becoming a good pitch. It has more slurve action with 10/4 shape at 68-72 mph. Ran a 7.04 60-yard dash.

A two-way player and right-handed hitter, Mandrell has a balanced setup, short stride, quick rhythm, and tilted shoulders. Exit velocity of 85 mph off the tee. In the outfield, he plays through the ball with average footwork and soft hands, and threw 82 mph from the same ¾ slot he pitches from.
