Early March, 2018 - Setting the tone for the three games on the day, Fisher, a Lamar recruit, would close out a complete game, 3-2 victory with his twelfth strikeout of the game, stranding two runners. The 6-foot-3, 175-pounder has a lanky frame that features long limbs and wiry-athleticism. HIs fastball blazed up to 94 mph in the first inning, and before sitting mostly 91-93 throughout the game, and even 91-92 in the seventh. Featuring a live arm with a clean arm stroke, Fisher’s fastball showed minor arm side life at times as it jumped through the bottom half of the zone from a high ¾ slot. Landing slightly open with his stride, Fisher’s head clears to allow his elastic arm to come through. He has the athleticism to repeat his delivery, and looks to have plenty of room to fill out both his upper and lower-half. While his slider is still developing, somewhat, he showed confidence in throwing it a fair share of the 101 pitches that he threw overall. Early on, the pitch worked 78-80 with short break, but was thrown for strikes, and locked up hitters who were cheating to his firm fastball. He would vary the speed and shape of the slider from 74-82. Early on in the game, Fisher’s hand appeared to coil around the slider which dropped his slot slightly, though he was still able to find the strike zone with it. The last inning saw him flip it in at 74-75, which almost seemed to relax the shape into become more sweeping, but also enabled him to find a better arm path for a couple later ones that showed some tilt at 77-79. Overall, the long, lean right-hander showcased impressive arm strength, and more than enough athleticism to believe that his slider will have a chance to continue developing in the future, and that he may produce even more velocity as he fills out.
