2020 DRAFT: You might expect the Dallas Baptist coaching staff to say they expected Carraway to be what he's turned out to be, but that isn't the case. Carraway was a smallish pitcher who threw in the low-90s on his best day as a prep. But, he's blossomed into one of college baseball's premier arms and relievers. Carraway has gone from a guy bumping low-90s with his fastball to one who's sitting 94-98 mph with the offering from a high slot and super quick arm. He has developed and continued to flourish with an 84-88 mph slider, while he also can attack hitters with a softer, more traditional curveball at 78-80 mph. The lefties' fastball will show a spin rate up to 2400-2500, while the curveball showed a spin rate in the 2600-2700 range against North Carolina earlier this season. Carraway carries himself confidently and pitches with intensity. He could move quickly through the professional ranks with his fastball, slider and curveball combo and is likely to be one of the first college relievers off the board.

2/22/20: Average, athletic frame at 6 feet, 173 pounds. Quick arm comes through high slot. Pitches with high effort and lands closed, throwing across body. Fastball jumps on hitters, ranging from 94-98 mph. Curveball has tight spin and sharp, 10/4 break at 73-74. Effectively wild. Faced five batters and struck out four to earn the save. (Rode)

6/30/19: Carraway’s velocity was down a bit in his CNT trial debut from what we saw earlier this spring, but his ability to get the KO was not. The 6-foot, 180 pound Carraway struck out two in one inning pitched, the second punchout coming on a freezer curveball at 77 mph. As a full-time reliever this spring for the Patriots, Carraway punched out 72 in 41.2 IP. With an aggressive delivery and effort from a high three-quarter release point, he can get you with either his heater or his hammer. On the initial look his fastball ranged from 90-94 mph and his above average-to-plus curveball sat 76-77 mph with 1/7 rotation. As good as Carraway was during his debut for the CNT, he was even better in his second appearance. Carraway mixed his nasty 77-78 mph curveball and powerful 95-96 mph fastball for two innings, punching out three and walking two while allowing no hits or runs. At this point, Carraway is an early Day Two draft prospect, with a similar profile to Matt Cronin (Arkansas, 4th round/123rd overall to Washington). (Seifert)
