01.13.18 Kemp has a long-limbed, wiry frame 6-foot-2, 150-pounds, with plenty of room to add strength as he continues to mature. The left-hander works from a ¾ slot with a short, whippy arm stroke. Hides the ball well as he gets down the mound with regular effort then the ball jumps out of his hand at 78-80 mph. His curveball has 1/7 shape with average depth at 62-65 mph. His slider has tighter spin at 67-69 mph with more 2/8 shape. He can throw both breaking balls for a strike, and both pitches should continue to improve as gains varsity innings and adds strength. His changeup flashes arm side fade at 72-73 mph.
