6/17/19

Durst is super-projectable at 6-foot-6, 215-pounds. The SFA commit ran a 7.09 60-yard dash and had a nice showing at the plate from the left side with his easy swing with uphill leverage that showed serious power on a 96 mph exit velocity. His work at 1B was very athleitc and clean, 81 mph throw across the field. Deep arm swing on the mound, controlled tempo down the hill, stays on top of the ball well for steep plane. Fastball topped 85 mph, showed downer 12/6 shape curveball at 64-67 mph.

There is a lot to like about Durst as a two-way prospect at 6-foot-5, 205-pounds, he has an already projectable, long-limbed frame and was still able to run a 7.17 60-yard dash. The right-hander works from a high slot with a long, clean arm swing, drop-and-drive delivery with a high leg lift and long stride down the mound. His fastball ranged from 81-83 and was tough for hitters to pick up. His curveball flashes good downer 12/6 shape at 64-67 mph. A two-way player and left-handed hitter, Durst starts from a tall, slightly open stance with relaxed hands. Athletic hack with a smooth load back as he triggers his hands, using a short leg kick, landing with leverage and separation. Great extension through contact with natural lift and an exit velocity of 96 mph. On the infield, he has quickish footwork and does a nice job of playing low with soft hands. Can throw from a lower slot when needed with feel, accuracy and a top velociyt of 81 mph across the diamond.
