Herring

One of the better matchups of the weekend was LSU signee Herring vs. TCU signee, Murphy Brooks.  All Herring did was go 4 ⅔ innings of no hit baseball.  He had brief moments of losing the strike zone, but when he was in it, he was unhittable.  The FB was 89-92 and he threw it to both sides of the plate.  His put away pitch was the slider, which he showed the ability to back foot to righties over and over. I thought his mechanics looked cleaner and the delivery was more compact.  Herring is extremely athletic on the mound and has won a lot of big games for the Dragons during his career.
