One of the more physically impressive looking players on Saturday was Kendrick. The 6’4 righty has an imposing presence on the mound. He showed a simple clean delivery that had his fastball top out at 86. He paired his fastball with an above avg. change up. He threw it with good arm speed and it came out of the same slot as his fastball. He also had an avg. breaking ball as well. As the velocity rises, I expect Kendrick to be one of the more talked about uncommitted 23’s this Spring/Summer.
Positional Profile: 3B/RHP
Body: 6-foot-4, 195 pounds.
Delivery: Simple, controlled delivery, slight drop and drive delivery, lands square to the catcher, consistent release point/landing spot.
Arm Action: RH. Long arm action, high ¾ slot.
FB: 81-85 T86 mph. Flashed arm-side run, strikes to arm-side.
CB: 75-79 mph. 11/5 shape, flashed strikes to glove-side.
CH: 74-76 mph. Flashed arm-side action, flashing arm-side strikes
Positional Profile: 3B
Body: 6-foot-4, 195 pounds.
Hit: RH. Balanced stance, small leg lift load trigger, rhythm in the barrel pre-pitch into barrel tilt swing trigger, hitting primarily line drives and some fly balls to the middle of the field.
Power: 91.1 mph max exit velocity in BP, 82.3 mph average exit velocity, 281 feet max distance, 10% of batted balls over 90 mph exit velocity.
Arm: RH. INF - 83 mph. Short arm action, good carry to the bag with accurate throws.
Defense: Clean footwork getting into fielding position, fields the ball in rhythm towards his target with a quick funnel to release at times.
Run: 7.66 runner in the 60.
