Bancroft committed to USU-Eastern in Utah shortly after the All-State Games and will be the starting SS at perennial state power, Pleasant Grove HS. A tall lanky and rangy SS/RHP, will be looked at both ways as he enters the next level. Features a LD stroke to all fields with a high knee kick and direct path to and through the baseball. A gamer type, that plays fundamentally sound, and makes the routine plays and can play all 3 INF spots with soft hands and shows a strong arm. On the mound, he has further potential with his long lanky frame, to add velocity as he continues to mature physically and fill out. The FB in game, will sit in the low 80’s and frequently touch the mid 80’s. I can see upper 80’s in his future over the next couple of years and flashes the makings of a tight breaking ball that he can throw for K’s. Conner will be counted on in the rotation this next spring, as Pleasant Grove makes their push for another state title appearance.

Conner is an athletic MIF with a profile of LF in his future. Plays on a 6A powerhouse and at times a nationally ranked Pleasant Grove team. In ‘21 he was the SS when another college commit pitched and then was at 2B when the latter was at SS. Conner has the frame you look for and still has considerable strength left to develop. A BA 7.26 runner that can get to a 7.0/7 - 60 in time with speed work. Defensively he shows soft hands, but the hands and feet need better syncing to stay on the dirt. See more as a LF time at the next level. Offensively his load works, yet he tends to over extend in the launch phase and it creates a sweep and scoop style on approach to the baseball. Very correctable with work and the right instruction. The ball jumps on line as he barreled balls from the middle to pull side of the diamond. Look for continued progress over the next year, as he plays for an elite HS program and head coach.
