The tall and well built sophomore has a prototype next level build at 6-2 192 and looks the part of a highly projectable two way player, that has yet to separate the two as to which way he will go, but I’m leaning with the bat as of now with the LH’ed profile and scarcity around the world, but is coming back from an injury that until we see him on the mound again, the bat is gonna be the theme of this report. The body is well props and has the hips and waist to stay lean and carry another 15-20 Lbs at maturity and will really look the part. One of the watch-list type ‘27’s that could pop in time and plays at the right HS (Snow Canyon) with head coach Reed Secrist a former 13 yr MiLB vet and pitching coach Brandon Lyon a former 12 yr MLB veteran setup/closer to give him the advantage in development others won’t get. The bat is a slashing two hand finish at times over his front side and the ball jumps off his bat with a more rigid type stroke that needs to be smoothed out and maintain better balance. He’s grown and filled out a ton over the last 6 months and we need to see where the body control takes him, now that he is more stable in his physical movement patterns. Not a runner at 7.68 and fits a definite corner profile now and in the future.

Rising Stars ID

A tall long limbed LHP with a loose arm and clean fluid arm stroke to project physicality and added velocity. The delivery is flexible and features a med to high knee kick and does leak with his delivery out front a bit, yet staying back and getting down and into his legs a bit more, should unlock some added velocity. The cleanness to the arm stroke and ext out front, lends itself to getting better faster. The FB 77-78 is on par for his current class and wouldn’t be surprised to see 81-82 by next spring. The FB is a little straight at the present time, but with grip changes and instruction, life can be added. The CB 66-67 has abv avg spin (2268) with a feel to spin the ball through release and create depth and bottom in the zone for K’s in a bullpen setting. The CH 72 features almost 9 inches of arm sods horizontal run w/mild sink. The CH shows kill spin and fade on approach to the hitting zone and shows some deception with FB arm speed. Intriguing LHP with upside to throw harder w/the ability to spin the baseball
