Positional Profile: RHP/1B Andrew emerges as one of the highly intriguing two-way profiles in the rising sophomore class that projects to be a historically good one for the state. On the dirt, he worked out at SS but played most of his varsity breakout season at the corners. The athleticism is there to see him potentially playing the corner infield or outifield at a high level long-term. The real intrigue carries over to the mound, where the arm action is free and easy with clear upside on top of his broad, 6'4" 185 lb frame. Working downhill with deliberate tempo, Johnson ran his fastball up into the mid-80s with substantial arm-side run. His sharp, late-breaking curveball & slider show the early spin properties necessary to become a high-level swing-and-miss weapon down the road. High ceiling talent and must follow in the 28' class.
