A small compact fire hydrant type strong build and built like a catcher. At 5-6 165, there may be an added 10 Lbs to go, and the strength factor as he matures, and gets his man strength will determine his ceiling. The floor is solid right now and just needs to focus on maintaining lower ½ agility, mobility and side to side quickness behind the plate. Defensively showed some of the quicker times and with 1.98-2.08 at his best time at the Top Prospect Games and little off that at the State Games. The exchanges and releases are quicker and efficient with a well below arm, which you can see he knows this and thus makes an effort to be quicker in allowing for his arm to play up a bit. The throws do have some hump at the end and are “to” and at times, others “through” the bag. The bat shows some intriguing qualities as he has a smooth online efficient swing from a plane standpoint, though does need to really work on his bat quickness or he will have to start sooner and be more on time and have to make quicker decisions to make up for the lack of pure bat speed. As long as he shows the ability to use the back side of the field, and look to see the ball a long time, this will be his way to cheat the code much like the arm and the exchange behind the plate. Has now moved from Jordan to Corner Canyon and the next couple of years will be important in his development to make the adjustments to reach his ceiling.
