Cheripka is 6-2 with a projectable athletic frame that has strength present. Hinges at the waist to throw from a sidearm slot, short free arm action and normal effort to his delivery. Fastball was 77-78 with heavy movement, just hard armside run at the top of the zone, also gets heavy sink with the armside run when down in the zone. Struck out both batters he faced with just fastballs. Long frame hides ball well, gives a tough look and very hard to lift ball. Control not command, but also has only recently dropped his arm slot. Threw in relief in this game, strikeout numbers in his starts has been very high.
