Smetana is 5-10 with a lankier athletic frame that has plenty of projection left to it. He hits from the right side from a slightly open balanced athletic stance, strides on line, smooth load back. Hips rotate completely and he maintains good lower half balance. Hands stay inside, slightly uphill line drive swing path, exit velocity was 74. In the infield, rounds the ball and fields with a wider base and above average hands, works through the ball, throws from a three-quarters arm slot, position velocity was 70. Ran a 7.57 60 yard dash. He throws from a high three-quarters arm slot, long free arm action and normal effort to his delivery. Shoulders are uphill and closed, lands closed with a fall off finish. Fastball was 70-72, with a bit of late sink to it. Curveball had some armspeed and was 58-61 with gradual 12/6 break. Change-up had good armspeed and was 64-67 with some sink. Slider was 59-60 with some armspeed and late 10/4 break.
