Allen has an athletic frame with present strength and projection left to it. Allen stands around 6-foot-3 and uses his length and leverage to work downhill with the fastball. Looked to be a little bit amped up in the first and was more control than command and did not use his secondary effectively in the first. After the first he was dialed in for the rest of his outing, which was five innings in total. Secondary was sharp in the second through the fifth, using the breaking ball and changeup effectively versus right-handed and left-handed hitters. The fastball sat 87-91 throughout his outing with carry through the zone. The breaking ball varied shapes at times and showed plenty of late depth, especially the deeper he went into his outing. The breaking ball sat 76-78 throughout and touched 79 twice in the fourth. Advanced feel for a changeup at 78-80 mph that had late hard fade. Allen struck out nine in five innings. He allowed two hits and a walk in the first inning and he would only allow one more runner, which was a walk in the fourth, and he was thrown out by Mechanicsville catcher Cameron Lamb. Love the pitchability for Allen and the secondary continues to be the separator for me. UMass-Amherst commit.

The switch hitting sophomore stands around 6-foot-3 with a strong projectable frame. Played both corner infield spots on the day and did a solid job defensively. Stood out at the plate, where he shows some strength from both sides of the plate. From the left side sets up in a very slightly open stance with a small stride in landing on line. Hands showed some rhythm and loaded back to separation. Swing has some uphill tilt to it and the barrel stays on through extension. Also came on in relief for Benedictine. Was short work, but fastball was 82-83 mph and curveball sat around 70-71 mph. Flashes some ability at the plate and on the mound and should be a player to watch going forward.
