Rigney has a strong athletic frame that has some projection left to it. Behind the plate, he has some arm strength and was 76 on his throw-downs, his between inning pops were 2.09-2.19 and he threw a 2.10 in game. At the plate, he has some batspeed and is very strong at contact. Slightly uphill swing path with a pull approach, his strength will create some power to his pull side and the ability to pop some home runs.
7.15.17: Rigney is 6-3 with a projectable athletic frame, he hits from the right side from a balanced athletic stance, short stride smooth load back with slight wrap. Explosive lower half and some balance to swing. Short swing, quick bat, line drive swing with power potential, good approach worked middle of the field. Behind the plate, good quiet receiver, blocks well with good lateral slide on blocks. Quick clean release, was 2.00-2.03 between innings, accurate throws were 74. Threw from high three-quarters arm slot with short loose arm action.
