Mickles is 5-11 with a lankier athletic frame that has plenty of projection left to it. He hits from the right side from a slightly open leaned back balanced athletic stance, strides on line, loads back to a wrap. Hips rotate completely with some violence and he maintains some lower half balance. Hands stay inside, short to the ball, slightly uphill swing path with some extension through the ball, showed a pull approach with the ability to use the whole field, generates some natural loft to pull side, exit velocity was 79. In the infield, good feet, rounds the ball and fields with a wider base and soft hands, works through the ball to a quick clean exchange, throws from a low three-quarters arm slot, short arm action, position velocity was 71. Ran a 4.47 home to first. On the mound, he throws from a three-quarters arm slot, long loose arm action with some effort to his delivery. Shoulders are uphill and closed, lands open with a bit of a fall off finish and recoil. Fastball was 72-74, touching 75, with some downward plane and some late armside run. Curveball was 64-65 with some armspeed and big gradual 11/5 break to it. Change-up was 63-67 with some armspeed and heavy sink to it.
