3.16.16: Marinelli is an athletic infielder who hits from the right side. He has a quick bat and good hands. He maintains balance throughout his swing path and has gap power with the potential for more. At shortstop, he has very good actions good footwork. He works through the ball well and has soft hands. He mostly throws from a sidearm slot and has a quick release with an average arm that is accurate.
2.22.15 Hit from a tall/balanced stance. Did not have much of a load. Slight arm bar prior to his hands moving forward to the ball. Stride was short with a slight leg kick. At times, lower half did not stay engaged throughout the swing. Showed bat speed with a good approach. Exit velocity was 87 mph. Swing path was short to the ball, which should allow him to be a line drive hitter. Showed the ability to spray line drives to the opposite field. In the field, he threw from a loose high ¾ arm slot that had accuracy. He had a Positional velocity of 80 mph. His hands were soft, which allowed for clean exchanges.
