McDaniel is 5-11 with an athletic frame that has some strength present and plenty of projection left to it. He hits from the right side from a balanced athletic stance, strides on line, short smooth load back. Hips rotate completely and he maintains some lower half balance. Hands stay inside, goes straight to the ball, slightly uphill line drive swing path, strong contact point with extension through the ball, showed a pull approach with some power present that way, exit velocity was 88. In the outfield, gets behind ball and fields through it with above average hands, quick clean exchange, throws from a lower three-quarters arm slot with a short arm action, position velocity was 83. Ran a 7.17 60 yard dash. On the mound, he throws from a low three-quarters arm slot, short free quick arm action and some effort to his delivery. Shoulders are uphill and closed, lands closed with a slight fall off finish and some recoil. Fastball was 76-80, touching 81, with some downward plane and some late run to armside. Curveball had good armspeed and was 64-67 with late hard 10/4 break to it, has some shape.
