Lipp has a taller lankier frame with projection left to it. He hits from the right side and has a strong quick stroke. Showed good approach during his at-bats against Sanchez, laying off breaking balls and jumping on fastballs. In his first at bat, with two runners in scoring position, showed aggression putting the first hittable fastball into play and rolling a single up the middle. In his second at-bat, he took a few curveballs out of the zone to get ahead in the count and then jumped on a fastball that was up in the zone and drilled it for a home run to deep left center. One of the takes and the home run are in the video below. Lipp still has projection and has a chance to be middle of the lineup hitter with home run power to his pull side and enough strength to hit for extra bases to all fields. Defensively, he has an average arm at best.
5.19.17: Lipp has a lankier athletic frame. Level line drive swing, casts a bit with a pull approach. Some bat speed and power potential. Gap power to his pull side now.
4.2.16: Lipp has a lanky, athletic frame and hits from the right side. He has a short load back and strides forward. He has a decent lower half and good balance throughout his swing. Lipp is very short to the ball with good extension and above average bat speed. Lipp has gap to gap power with the potential for more as he develops.
