Positional Profile: LHP/1B
Body: 5’11”, 170 pounds. Athletic, projectable frame.
Hit: LHH. Hits from a taller, balanced, square stance. Smooth back load and medium sized leg kick into a short stride. Creates good hand separation with a slight uphill swing path. Stays behind the ball generating good lower half involvement. Gets good extension through the zone and past contact with a strong one handed finish. Shows good balance with a strong middle to pull side approach.
Power: 83 mph exit velocity from the tee. Middle to pull side pop present with more developing.
Arm: LH. INF - 73 mph. Throws with longer arm action from a high three quarter arm slot.
Defense: Surrounds the ball well, showing quick feet, soft hands and good exchanges. Fields the ball out in front and funnels straight to the belt. Turns and squares shoulders nicely to the target on double play feeds. Shows ability to throw from various arm slots.
Run: 4.70 home-to-first time.
Delivery: Pitched strictly out of the stretch, into a chest high leg kick. Delivery allows him to hide the ball well with good deception. Generates good torque out of his lower half and gets out over his landing knee regularly. Hand separation is on time and fluid. Lands in a good fielding position.
Arm Action: LH. Throws downhill out of a high three-quarter arm slot.
FB: T77 mph, 75-77 mph. Natural tail and arm-side run.
CB: 62-64 mph. Tight, 2/8 shape and action.
CH: 63-66 mph. Some arm-side fade at the plate.
5-foot-11, 145-pound athletic frame. Hits from the left side with a balanced athletic setup. Starts and finishes square. Hands load back and low, barrel gets on plane, and has a slightly uphill path with line drive tendency. Used the entire field well and posted a 77 mph exit velocity. Defensively Walker worked the feet really well around the bag and seemed comfortable at first base. Feet were active on approach, nice glove presentation, and centered to a quick exchange. Shorter arm action from a low three-quarter arm slot at 72 mph across. 4.54 Home-1st time. On the mound started with a small side step rocker, lower leg lift, and strides down and out landing slightly closed. Full arm circle from a three-quarter arm slot. Fastball was 71-73 with some arm side run at times. Breaking ball flashed a 1/7 shape at 60-62 mph. Changeup showed some late fade and solid arm speed at 65-67 mph.
