Engel is 5-11 with a lankier athletic frame that has some strength present and plenty of projection left. Engel is a switch pitcher, from the right side, he throws from a three-quarters arm slot, short loose very quick arm action and higher effort to his delivery. Drop and drive delivery, shoulders are uphill and closed, lands closed with a slight fall off finish and hard recoil. Fastball was 85-88, with hard late armside run to it. Slider was 71-72 with good armspeed and late hard 10/4 break to it. From the left side, he throws from a high three-quarters arm slot, short loose quick arm action and higher effort to his delivery. Drop and drive delivery, shoulders are uphill and closed, lands closed with a fall off finish and recoil. Fastball was 85-88, with downward plane and some late armside run to it. Curveball was 61-62 with some armspeed and gradual 1/7 break to it.
