VA/DC Limited Series East

Rangy athletic defender with projectable frame. Moves well, like to see stay on balls of feet more and stay active. Shows smooth exchange to release and throws show some carry across the diamond. On the mound, has a high leg lift to balance. Average backside involvement through release. Shorter arm action throwing from a three quarter slot.Fastball ranged from 77-79 topping out at 80. More there as he gets stronger and and adds some intent in delivery. Really like the projection and athleticism.

Preseason All-State I

Hines is 6-2 with a lanky athletic frame that has plenty of projection left to it. He hits from the right side from an open athletic stance, low leg kick stride on line, smooth load back to a wrap. Hips rotate completely with some violence and he maintains good lower half balance. Hands stay inside, quick to the ball, slightly uphill line drive swing with strength at contact and extension through the ball, exit velocity of 82. In the infield, rounds the ball and fields with a good wide base with soft hands, clean exchange, throws from a low three-quarters arm slot, position velocity was 76. Ran a 4.58 home to first. On the mound, he throws from a low three-quarters arm slot, breaks hands long before shortening up to a shorter loose arm action and easier effort to his delivery. Shoulders are level and closed, lands square with an athletic finish and some recoil. Fastball was 74-76 with heavy run to armside. Curveball had some armspeed and was 64-65 with gradual 10/4 break. Change-up had some armspeed and was 67-68 with run to it.
