6.23.15 Holt has a big frame with a strong lower half. He throws from a three-quarters arm slot and has a drop and drive delivery. His arm action has a bit of a wrap to it and he has a quick arm stroke that generates easy velocity. His shoulders are uphill and on line as he strides out to a slightly closed landing before coming to an athletic finish. Holt’s fastball ran 82-84 with late run and good downhill plane. His curveball was thrown with full armspeed and had late 10/4 break, running 67-72. His changeup was also thrown with full armspeed and had armside run to it and sat 73-76. Holt had good command of all three of his pitches. Offensively, hit from a balanced and athletic stance that stood slightly open. Smooth load back. Smooth, controlled stride that stays on line. Balance maintained throughout swing. Good lower half drive to the baseball. Explosive hands with a bat exit velocity of 95 mph. Good approach to the round. Swing path is short and level through the zone with good extension. Fluid rhythm. In the field, threw from high ¾ arm slot that was loose. Throws were accurate. Positional velocity of 74 mph. Soft hands. Footwork was slow and on heels. Quick, clean exchanges.
11/8/2014: Holt is 6-foot-2 with a very strong lower half. He throws from a high three-quarters slot and has a short arm action due to a wrap. His shoulders are uphill and closed at power position but he lands closed after his stride, forcing him to come back across his body to the target. Holt’s fastball sat 82-84 on the day and touched 86. He generated a lot of swinging strikes with it. He showed an 11/5 breaking ball from 67-70 that had a gradual breaking action to it. Holt mostly used his fastball but has a lot of upside as his feel for his secondary pitches improves.

Had an exit velocity of 95 mph off of the tee. In the field, Holt showed the ability to move. Had soft hands, long arm action, and average feet. Showed lateral movement with average range for the position. Was quick and accurate with all throws.
