Big strong athletic frame, hits from the right side with a wider base. Good command of the strike zone and a sound swing. Showed discipline and patience as well as knowledge of the strike zone. Behind the plate, arm has some strength, was up 75 on throw downs between innings with pop times of 2.03-2.10. Short arm action from high three-quarters arm slot, good block/receive despite the bigger frame.
6.13.17:  Ericsson has a lankier frame, hits from the right side from a slightly open, balanced athletic stance. Short stride on line, minimal load. Explosive lower half, some balance throughout his swing. Very short to ball, some extension up through it, exit velocity was 81. Worked gap to gap, has some power potential as he gets stronger. Behind the plate, good depth to his set-up, quiet hands receiving, sticks ball well. Clean exchange, pop times were 2.04-2.16, position velocity was 68. Threw from low three-quarters arm slot, short arm action. Ran a 7.31 60.
