Lottchea had a strong day at the plate. He hits from the left side with a short line drive swing, he uses the whole field and barreling balls consistently, does drive through the ball and has some power to all fields. Mature approach, kid can hit. On the mound was 75-78, curveball was 64-65 and change was 70. He has some pitchability and commands the zone with all three pitches.

Lottchea had a good game at the plate and in the outfield. Took good routes on balls to cut a few off short of the gap and played one off of the wall well. Gets good first step and has some arm strength. At the plate, hits from the left side with some batspeed and a short swing, keeps hands inside. At-bat to leadoff the game was impressive. Worked a deep count, and then stayed back and let a fastball down and out get deep and drove it to the base of the leftfield fence for a double. In his other at bat again went the other way for an RBI groundout. Uses whole field and has extra base power to all fields, chance to have some more power to pull side as he gets stronger and learns to turn on the ball.

2/10/19

Preseason All-State I

Solid frame at 5-foot-10, 160-pounds. Hits from the left side with a square stance with a simple pick up and put down landing balanced and in an athletic position. Hands load back with rhythm to separation and bat path showed an uphill path and lower half finishes completely. Exit velocity was 82 mph. Active feet on approach receiving the ball quartered open with a step through to get back in line to throw. Arm circle is small throwing from a three quarter arm slot at 77 mph. Home-1st time was 4.33. Slower paced delivery with a slight pause at balance and a down and out movement home. Hands break early, small arm circle, normal effort, and throws from a three-quarter arm slot. Fastball was at 76-77 mph. Curveball sat at 64-66 mph with 1/7 shape and feel around the zone. Threw a splitter at 68-69 mph with intent. Splitter had late dive and had feel for it.
