Shipman is 6-0 with an athletic frame that has plenty of projection left to it. He hits from the right side from a slightly open balanced athletic stance, low leg kick stride on line, loads back to a slight bar. Hips rotate completely and he maintains some lower half balance. Hands stay inside, quick to the ball, slightly uphill swing path, some strength at contact with extension through the ball, showed a good approach working gap to gap, exit velocity was 93. In the infield, rounds the ball and fields with above average hands and a good wide base, works through the ball to a quick clean exchange, throws from a sidearm slot, position velocity was 78. Ran a 7.38 60 yard dash. On the mound, he throws from a sidearm slot, longer loose arm action and some effort to his delivery. Drop and drive delivery, shoulders are downhill and closed, lands closed with a slight fall off finish and some recoil. Fastball was 76-79, touching 80, with heavy run to armside that gets some depth as well. Curveball had good armspeed and was 69-71 with sharp 10/4 break to it, pitch has swing and miss potential. Change-up was 71-73 with good armspeed and heavy sink.
