Boykin is 6-3 with a lankier athletic frame that has plenty of projection left to it. He throws from a three-quarters arm slot, short free quick arm action and normal effort to his delivery. Drop and drive delivery, shoulders are uphill and closed, lands closed with a slight fall off finish and some recoil. Fastball was 78-81, touching 82, with some late sink to it and a touch of run when thrown to armside. Curveball had good armspeed and was 63-66 with sharp 11/5 break to it.

Drop and drive delivery, shoulders are slightly downhill and closed, swings into landing on line with a fall off finish. Fastball was 78-81, touching 83, with late hard armside run. Slider had some armspeed and was 69-71 with 11/5 break to it. Change-up was 71-73 with good armspeed and some heavy sink to it.
