Silva stands around 6-foot with an athletic frame. Hits from the left side with an open athletic stance. Strides on line and hands show some rhythm throughout. Swing is level and showed some line drive tendency using the middle of the field well. Head stayed behind the barrel at contact and had some balance throughout the swing. Behind the plate Silva was a solid receiver and defender. Thing that stood out most about Silva was his arm strength behind the plate. Throws showed carry and was accurate around the bag. Silva was aggressive and did not show any hesitation throwing behind runners and keeping the opposing running game down.
Top Prospect Games II
Silva is 5-11 with a lankier frame that has plenty of projection left to it. He hits from the left side from a balanced athletic stance, short leg kick stride on line, short load back, hips rotate completely with violence, and he maintains good balance during his swing, has some rhythm. Quick to ball, showed good approach working gap to gap, slightly uphill line drive swing, strength at contact with extension through the ball, exit velocity was 85. Behind the plate, quick clean exchange. Throws from a high three-quarters arm slot with a short arm action, position velocity was 77, pop times were 1.98-2.07, showed good accuracy on his throws.
