VA/DC Scout Blog 4/2/18
Seth Mayberry had a solid pitching frame that we can expect to continue to develop. Was sitting 88-92 early on in the game with a heavy fastball that gets on hitters quick. Works well downhill with solid drive off his backside. Has ability to command both halves of the plate with the fastball. Breaking ball was around 74-76; it breaks on a 10/4 plane with tight rotation.  Wouldn’t be surprised to see him spinning the slider in the low 80’s in the future. He’s a competitor that likes to challenge hitters.
PBR Mid-Atlantic ProCase 2.10.18
One of the biggest risers from the event had to be this much improved righty from Dinwiddie HS. Mayberry has made noticeable improvements to his 6-foot-2, 195-pound frame looking much more put together. On the mound, Mayberry had one of the more impressive days pitching 90-92 with a 79 mph breaking ball. The breaking ball showed late breaking action, though he did leave a little up in the zone. He pitches with some effort, but with his lightning arm, Mayberry was one of the big winners from the event.
7.15.17:  Mayberry has an athletic frame and throws from a three-quarters arm slot with a long loose arm action and easier effort. Shoulders closed and slightly uphill, lands closed with a fall off finish. Fastball had some sink to it, sat 85-88, touched 90 once. Velocity held 87-88 in first inning, was in the 85-86 range after a rain delay. Slider had late 10/4 break and was 70-72.
2.11.17:  Mayberry is 6-2 with an athletic frame and throws from a lower three-quarters arm slot with a long, free arm action pitching with light effort. Shoulders uphill and closed, lands closed, comes to a complete finish. Gets some lower half involvment and good backside drive in delivery. Fastball was 84-86 with late run and tilt when working downhill. Slider was 64-70 with late 10/4 break and near fastball armspeed that shows potential. Change-up was 70-74 with near fastball armspeed and sink. Projectable frame that shows more in the tank to throw harder.

3.15.16 - Mayberry’s fastball ran 81-84 and he showed a curveball that was 73. Mayberry should some toughness and ability to compete as he worked out of jams in each of the first two innings against a very tough Hanover lineup.
