Austin is 6-1 with an athletic frame that has strength present and some projection left to it. He hits from the right side from a slightly open balanced stance, low leg kick stride on line, smooth load up and back to a wrap. Hips rotate completely with some violence and he maintains some lower half balance. Hands stay inside, short to the ball, slightly uphill line drive swing path, some strength at contact, showed a pull approach, exit velocity was 82. In the infield, rounds the ball and fields with average hands, works through the ball to a clean exchange, throws from a high three-quarters arm slot, short arm action, position velocity was 81. Ran a 7.26 60 yard dash. On the mound, he throws from a three-quarters arm slot, short free quick arm action and some effort to his delivery. Shoulders are downhill and closed, lands closed with an athletic finish and recoil. Fastball was 80-82, with some late hard armside run that has a bit of depth. Curveball was 68-69 with good armspeed and sharp 10/4 break to it. Change-up was 70-74 with good armspeed and late hard fade. Cutter was 74-76 with good armspeed and late hard 10/4 bite with some depth.
