DuVal is 6-1 with an athletic frame that has some strength present and some projection left to it. He hits from the left side from a leaned back balanced athletic stance, short stride on line, smooth load back. Hips rotate completely with some violence and he maintains good lower half balance. Hands stay inside, short and quick to the ball, some strength at contact point, slightly uphill swing path, showed a pull approach with some power present, exit velocity was 88. In the outfield, gets body behind the ball and fields through it with above average hands, quick clean exchange, throws from a low three-quarters arm slot, position velocity was 81. Ran a 7.15 60 yard dash. On the mound, he throws from a low three-quarters arm slot, short quick arm action that is free and some effort to his delivery. Shoulders are level and slightly closed, lands slightly open with a fall off finish. Fastball was 83-84, with heavy armside run to it. Curveball had good armspeed and was 64-67 with sharp hard 11/5 break to it. Change-up had good armspeed was 76-77 with heavy fade. Showed command of all three pitches.
