VA/DC Scout Blog 5/15/18
Casagrande looked good moving in centerfield, getting good breaks on balls laterally and covering a lot of ground. Arm plays well out there. At the plate, hit at the top of the order and led off three innings. Showed good approach in those at-bats, using whole field and not trying to do to much, put barrel on ball for three hits. Showed high barrel awareness all game and ability to cover the entire plate.

Another Arizona commit that was very impressive was Riverside's Casagrande. What stuck out the most about Casagrande was his ability to perform at a high level while never over exerting himself. Casa showed nice feel for the barrel at the plate and the ability to spray around the field with his hands and should get his share of deep drives too. You could tell the work he has put in on his swing through the years and the improvement of bat speed and barrel control was present. An explosive first step and showed a knack to get to top speed quickly with his 30-yard sprint. More than capable arm strength with his 90 mph velocity. Casagrande has potential to tune into a special player down the road.
9.2016 - Longer arm action throwing from over the top arm angle. Creates quick arm speed. Square stance from the left side. Shorter swing path with quick hands. Spins off at times but generate nice bat speed with a middle approach.
3.26.15:  Casagrande has a great frame and a strong lower half. He hits from the left side and has a short, balanced swing with good batspeed that will produce a lot of line drives and currently has gap power. As he grows and matures, he could develop into a guy that has legitimate power to all fields while being athletic enough to be a good defensive corner outfielder.
