Eggleston, a Longwood commit, was solid on the day. Mechanics have pace and gets to a high balance point, lands slightly closed, and throws from a low three-quarter arm slot with some effort and intent. Featured a lively fastball that sat at 83-85 early on and faded to 81-82 later. Fastball had carry through the zone and some arm side run. Showed ability to throw to both sides of the plate. Did not throw the curveball many times on the day, but did show some feel for it and got some swings and misses when he threw it. Curveball was loose in spin and had 1/7 shape at 69-70 mph. Changeup was a legit out pitch getting multiple swings and misses with fastball arm speed and intent. Changeup had late hard fade and sat at 74-76. Eggleston is an absolute bulldog on the mound and works with a quick pace and is not afraid to attack any hitter in any count.
9.16.17: Eggleston has an athletic frame and threw from a low three-quarters arm slot with a shorter quick arm action and some effort. Shoulders closed and downhill, landed closed. Fastball was 77-80, touching 81, with some late run. Good slider with hard late 2/8 break and good armspeed was 68-73.
