Wolpert is a strong 6-foot-2, 185 pound left-handed hitting two-way prospect. At the plate, Wolpert hits out of an athletic stance. The hands are set high and he uses a short load to get into the launch position. The bat path is quick and direct through the hitting zone. During the batting practice, Wolpert showed the ability to create gap to gap carry and maxed out with a 88.1 MPH exit velocity. He also ran 7.03 second sixty.
Defensively, Wolpert showed impressive arm strength with a velocity of 86 MPH from the outfield. His approach to the ball is athletic as he gets into a good fielding position. His transition to throw is clean and allows his arm to get above his back shoulder. He extends through the play with a long, fluid arm swing.
On the mound, Wolpert showed a live arm and a tough angle from the left side. The delivery is controlled, balanced and creates a closed angle to home plate. The arm works out of a fluid lower ¾ slot, creating a tough angle for hitters on a fastball that sat 81-85 MPH. The breaking ball had good depth at 69 MPH and he showed a change-up at 74 MPH.
Wolpert is a solid two-way prospect. He’s an athletic outfielder, with a strong arm and the swing has juice. On the mound, there is definite arm talent from the left side.
