Made some offensive adjustments since our last look back in March. At the plate, sets up with a wider, more athletic base and has some weight pre-shifted onto his back leg. Takes a reverse step to gather and then uses a low, forward stride to get into landing. Showed a similar hand path and barrel action to what we’ve seen before. Has more strength in his frame and is able to hold his posture through contact a bit longer. Also showed a jump in peak exit velocity and average exit velocity. At SS, used a slightly more narrow set-up in his pre-pitch routine. Feet stay active through the process. Receives ball on glove side and is able to work into the throw with a cleaner transition. Arm strength showed improvement while working from a similar slot as before with a mix of both long & short action depending on the throw.

5-10, 150 pounds. Proportionally built. Offensively starts in a tall, balanced stance with weight centered. Takes short forward stride into a toe tap as he shifts hands back and gets barrel into hitting position. From there, uses a quick move to rotate into his swing while staying tall in lower half. Head stays behind the ball at contact & hands stay tight to body. Low, level finish through contact. Defensively, moved with a steady, deliberate tempo at SS. Maintained balance & body control while moving laterally. Stays low in stance and lets ball travel into his set-up. Funneling in to his core and then getting into exchange. Uses a glove tap for rhythm before arm action begins and gets to a ¾ release. Backside comes thru on throws across the diamond. On the mound, works with a quicker paced delivery and shows repeatable actions. Uses an athletic leg lift to coil into his back hip while staying just slightly bent on his backside. Hands break from a high position near rear shoulder and he gets into a full arm swing as he takes a shorter forward stride. Slight cross action in landing but stays mostly in-line with catcher. Uses a ¾ release with an aggressive finish out front.
