Wotruba

Wotruba is athletically built with strength to add to his 5-foot-10 180-pound frame. During BP, the RHH used a quick handsy swing that projects to make a lot of contact and recorded a max EV of 84 mph during his round. In the INF, Wotruba uses active feet to work around the ball and showed some arm strength, topping at 82 mph from across the infield. On the mound, Wotruba is a methodical mover and stays online throughout his delivery. As for his repertoire, he features a FB that he ran up to 83.2 mph that played with run and carry. His two offspeed offerings a CB and CH are both still developing but the CB did flash 10/4 break. After missing his entire spring and summer season with an injury, Wotruba seems to be healthy now and is a name to monitor going into the winter. 

Hit: RHH. Tall setup, open stance, hands drop at load, short stride.  Hands stay short to the baseball, level path through the zone, line drive approach.
Power: 82.11 max exit velocity, averaged 73.7 mph. 261’ max distance.
Arm: R/R. INF - 81 mph. Short arm stroke, over-the-top slot.
Defense: Active feet on the infield, glove plays under center of body, secure exchange to release.
Run: 7.74 runner in the 60. 

Positional Profile: SS/RHP
Body: 5-9, 155-pounds. Thin frame.
Delivery: Tall/fall type pitcher. Rushed motion with some effort throughout delivery. Uses level shoulders and remains in line. Slight recoil finish.
Arm Action: R/R. High 3/4 arm angle with quick arm speed. Loose arm action.
FB: T81, 79-81 mph. FB jumps out of the hand. Showed some carry. T1984, 1926 average rpm.
CB: 66-69 mph. 11/5 shape with tight spin. Sharp action. Thrown at FB arm speed.  T2171, 1994 average rpm.
CH: 73-75 mph. Circle CH has straight floating action. Thrown low in the zone.  T1701, 1578 average rpm.
