FR. RHP Donovan Hatch (Edgerton, WI) is another newcomer for the Scots’ looking to make an impact during his freshman campaign. 6-foot-1, 180-pound frame works down hill with clear intent to the operation and a clean half arm swing into a high ¾ slot with some polish. Drop/drive lower half and sequences his moving parts well to generate some noticeable arm speed. Fastball carries at 85-86 mph (18” avg IVB) while spinning a slider at 74-77 mph with tight, short break and turning over a changeup that killed vertical break (5.1” IVB). Cutter at 80-81 mph with a tight, right turn really rounds out the arsenal. Looks the part on the mound with plenty of room to add to the frame.
