Working exclusively on the mound for this evaluation, operates with an intentful drop-and-drive delivery that utilizes his lower half to work directly in-line to the plate. Throws with a whippy and lightning quick arm through the ball generating significant life and carry through the strike zone. His fastball sat 87-88 mph (2,447 rpm) with forward life through the hitting zone.That average fastball spin rate explicitly led both the entire event. The curveball played at 74 mph (2,618 rpm) with sharp two-plane breaking action into and out of the hitting zone. Also featured a sharp slider at 75-76 mph (2,652 rpm) that showcased wipeout, 10/4 action with big sweeping lateral break to the pitch. Uncommitted, one of the top sophomores in the state, set to debut in the next rankings update, standing at 5-foot-10, 189 pounds with strength throughout the frame. Hermus came on in relief of Deering with a loud look out of the ‘pen striking out two batters across 1.2 innings on the mound, walking two. In the zone with three pitches, the fastball reached 86 mph with running action, spun a sweeping breaking ball in the low-70s to pair with a running changeup at 76-78 mph.

Hermus made his way onto Kimberly’s varsity squad midway through his freshman year and looked like an improved version in our latest look at him. On the mound Hermus showed feel for his four pitch mix, his fastball plays in the mid-80s, topping out at 86 mph with slight cutting action. Hermus showed the ability to throw two different breaking balls, a 10/4 curveball in the low-70s and a mid-70s two-plane slider. Rounding off his arsenal, Hermus showed an upper-70s changeup that plays with depth off the fastball. Also an athlete, Hermus ran 6.85 60 yard dash to start his workout as a position player. At the plate, from the right-side Hermus took a loud round of BP, looking to elevate to the pull side with leverage out front.
