3/16/14 - Top uncommitted senior in the state. 6-foot-2, 175-pound pitcher with a lanky frame and a four pitch mix. Delivery has rhythm, clean lines, a square finish, above average effort. Arm works quick, high ¾ slot. Fastball was straight, sitting 84-87 mph with a few pitches flashing cut action. Hard curveball had 12/6 shape, 74-77 mph, swing and miss abilities. Changeup 79-80 mph with quality sink and fade action. Also throws a split finger 75-77 mph with strong, downer action. Cypress’ aggressive nature with his arsenal makes him a high touted prospect still available in the Class of 2014.
1/12/14 - Athletic build with length, 6-foot-2, 175-pound right handed pitcher, high ceiling. Delivery has some effort, shows explosiveness, works with quickness. Arm action is quick and loose, above average arm action. Fastball flashed cut action, showed some control, topped out at 88 mph. Curveball has late sharp action, throws with conviction, aggressive arm action, 74-77 mph, shows feel and control, advanced curveball. His changeup flashed hard arm side action with sink at 78-81 mph, throws with fastball arm action, advanced life. Cypress is a late bloomer who is now showing advanced action through the hitting zone with multiple pitches, he has huge projection and has the ability to be a high level prospect.
