Van Laanen was the leadoff hitter and table-setter for his team on Thursday morning, scoring three times while going 2-for-3 to start his weekend. The lefty sent a double to the opposite field right away in the first inning, setting the tone for the majority of the game. Compact frame at 5-foot-9, 165 pounds. Utilized his speed on the basepaths to score multiple times after coming off a successful spring with Homestead.
